All The Fun And Thrills Of 4×4 Videos
Whether a dedicated spectator or a potential competitor, reading a 4×4 magazine or watching 4×4 Videos are both entertaining and educational. The fact is, every off road enthusiast loves to watch those huge off road trucks muscle their way through the mud and water, especially if they are decked out with the latest high tech off road equipment.
This sport is actually fast becoming a hugely popular sport not just throughout the United States and Canada but throughout Europe as well. It comes under various titles however, which can include mud racing, mud bogging or simply mudding. Whatever one prefers to call it, it is basically an off-road sport where a variety of vehicles are driven through water drenched mud pits. The winner is whoever ends up going furthest through the pit. The proof of the popularity of this sport is evident simply by the number of mudding videos that continue to be made.
Watching these are probably the best way to learn how to have fun with a 4×4 without owning one, at least it’s a good place to start. The best thing about them is what can be learned about the sport itself just from watching them. In reality, one can really get up close and personal, so to speak, with both the vehicles and the drivers.
In reality a whole range of different choices, each full of exciting viewing, is available by making a simple online search. Numerous examples are out there, and all can enable any potential enthusiasts to watch how it should be done (or maybe how it shouldn’t be done). Some examples show actual racing, others simply show drivers fighting their way through deep, muddy holes or pits simply to prove they can take it.
However, one thing that is common to all of them is that the sport appears to require two things, namely – extremely powerful engines and a huge pit of mud. These pits can range from around 1/8 of a mile to a complete mile; this will depend on both the location and on the number of people who may be coming out to watch the spectacle. What is certain is that it appears to be as popular a spectator sport as it is a competitive one.
Most of the competitors appear to start the sport using any old truck. They simply make specific modifications to the main parts, such as putting on much larger wheels, which are necessary to be able deal with the tough ground. Then with time and experience they tend to gradually make improvements to the truck to make it bigger, and hopefully better.
In many ways it seems that possible success may ultimately depend upon the tread on the tires. Basically the more aggressive the tread, the more chance of reaching the destination. Likewise it would seem that turning the steering left and right will result in obtaining a crucial grip when progress is about to stop. Again a steady momentum appears to be vital, frequent gear changing and acceleration seems to hinder any progress.
As well as how to do it, or how not to do it, these 4×4 videos can be useful in highlighting the dangers of the sport. Most are made by amateurs which actually makes them all the more exciting. Possibly best of all is that the websites offer not only videos but an entire online community in which to learn about the sport while having some fun.
