What would be a good first truck?Keep in mind its gonna see alot of mud.?

Also how much of a lift would be good. Im thinking any truck between 1900-2003 would be good. Also keep in mind its gonna be sitten on some 40′s.
When i was a bit younger my buddy bought a 1995 regular cab Ranger 2.3L 5speed 4×4. That truck went through stuff that larger trucks were getting stuck in. I believe this was mostly due to the fact that the truck was much lighter than a full size truck. It met its demise when he put it in a pond that he thought was much shalower. A bit of advice if you intend to cross a pond check the depth of it first. Trucks do not run well submersed under water. We learned that one the hard way! Hope this helps!

You can never go wrong with a Chevy so either that or a dodge. I have a dodge and it runs well in mud with a V6. However, it sounds to me that you are doing some serious mudding so whatever you end up getting make sure it's a V8

Ford is rated the best in spite of the whiners from chevy and dodge.(they may be out of business).
