what kind of truck do i need to haul a mudding truck / 23-25′ boat.?
Hello, I was wondering whether I need a 150/250/350 1500/2500/3500. Someone I know has a lifted 4×4 1978 f150 mud truck for sale and I was thinking about getting it. The only problem is that It isn’t street legal. I’m wondering what kind of truck I need to pull this (I would prefer a diesel so I can use it for many years as a work truck). Also, in the future I plan to get a 21-24′ wakeboard/skii boat. I think this may be lighter than the truck so.. I’ve researched the different weights trucks can pull, but I still can’t really decide.
Without knowing the exact weight you just have to guess. I’m guessing the truck weighs about 6000lbs. Most light duty trucks can haul this with no problem. Even a 24′ ski boat can be towed easily by a light duty. If you want a diesel you’ll have to go with the 250/2500 or higher though. But from what you are saying, you don’t need the heavy duty trucks for this type of work.
