The Joy In Having An ATV
What does ATV mean? It simply means all terrain vehicle. It is just describing any small type of vehicle that is open type of vehicle that is designed to be used off the road. It will travel on low pressure tires. This will usually be driven by one person, although on some, you can ride two people.
This vehicle resembles a motorcycle in so many ways, however the additional wheels ensure that you will be stable as you are driving at a slow speed. Motorcycles tend to have to stay at a steady pace to prevent them from falling over as they only have two wheels, but these 4 wheelers have more than three wheels and you can come to a complete stop and no have to fear it falling over.
What do you think this is commonly called? Most people, especially in America, call this a four wheeler and sometimes even a quad. There are other terms for it in different countries, but they are all just an all terrain vehicle.
Who do you think came up with the idea of this product? A lot of people will say foreigners did, but it is not so. The United States created these way before the Japanese got the chance. It may have been a while since the first one was developed, but there are some same qualities in the recent models compared to the original models. You will find that 4 wheelers have however become a lot more technologically advanced.
Why should you clean this vehicle? First off, you need to take as good care of it as you would anything that you own. It is a vehicle, so treat it like one. Make sure all parts are running properly and functioning as they should. Check tires often because they will wear out more than you think. Clean the parts of the vehicle often to help the quality to last and if you do this, you will own a functioning vehicle for a long amount of time.
In this world today, there are almost nine million all terrain vehicles that people ride. This has become a widely spread sport, and everyone who participates should have knowledge about safety while riding. Adults, be sure to supervise those who are under sixteen years old. Always ensure that those riding have a helmet on. There are special type of clothing or gear designed to protect you. It is good to wear that. Keep the vehicle on designated areas or trails. Never drive it on a main road because you could have an encounter with another vehicle resulting in injury.
Do not take the vehicle on public roads as this prevents you from taking the chance of getting hit by a car. Do not drink alcohol or do drugs! If the vehicle is designed for one passenger, do not carry more than that! Stay on the proper trails given. You can even take a safety course that will ensure that you know everything possible.

ATV Mud Tires Offer All In One Grip, Stability and Traction
All-terrain vehicle tires or ATV tires are specially manufactured to encounter all types of off-road conditions e.g. muddy areas or hilly regions. They are designed for ATVs, four-wheeled motorcycles and Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs). These tires are used on vehicles to provide them with good road grip especially in areas with difficult terrain.
The tires have been made to fulfill a number of problems including mud, sand and snow. The ATV tires are an advanced solution to better grip which general purpose tires are unable to provide. They have a large, chunky design. Their wide profile allows them to perform well in off-road conditions.
There are two types of ATV tires; ATV mud tires and ATV snow tires. ATV mud tires have wide spaced irregular-treads for maximum grip in all sorts of muddy conditions whether the mud is wet or dry. The wide flat gaps between the treads allow the tire to sink into the top most layer of the surface giving it better grip. The tires also increase the efficiency of the traction control system on board.
The most noticeable feature of the mud tires is their large tread pattern. The tread on the tire is modified to a caterpillar track style that allows the tire to have a firm grip on the ground and not lose control on difficult tracks. The design of the treads is formed in straight or jagged lines which pierce the ground to a few millimeters. In mud tires, these treads are carved much deeper than standard tires. This modification allows them to hold more mud for a strong grip. The big chunky pattern easily goes into the mud, yet it gets rid of the mud quickly so that more mud can go into them and the grip is maintained.
The mud tires are most commonly seen fitted on four wheel drive trucks or specialized vehicles e.g. buggies, carts etc. They are common on racing and off-roading vehicles and come as a special feature in military vehicles. They are too large to be fitted in standard sedan-sized cars because of the small size of the fender.
Mud tires can be seen with mud flaps. They are special protectors made of hard plastic or rubber that hang from a car behind the tires. They absorb the mud from the tires and keep the rest of the car clean including the inside of the wheels.
The disadvantage of using mud tires is that they do not perform well on carpeted or cemented roads. They do not deliver the quality of balance and stability necessary for high speed driving on stable roads because of the large, square openings in their treads. As a result of limited surface area which touches the ground, there is less traction between the tires and the road. They are also noise producing because of the whistling of air through the irregular treads.
