Choosing A Quality Car Insurance Plan Today
When it is time for choosing a quality car insurance plan you should keep a few things in mind.
Not all car insurance companies are alike. Some are not as likely to be able to pay a claim as others are. In order to tell the best car insurance companies, you will need to look at their ratings. Look for an insurance company rated A+ or better.
The second factor in choosing a quality car insurance plan is to choose a company that offers insurance plans that are important to you. For example, if you rent vehicles on a regular basis, you may want to find a company that offers insurance on rental vehicles. This can save you up to twenty-five dollars per day on auto rentals.
When buying that insurance, you will want to add collision and comprehensive damage to the policy. This pays for damage to your vehicle if you are in an accident and are at fault. It also pays if your vehicle is vandalized or stolen. This type of loss is becoming far too common today to do without this insurance.
Medical coverage for your passengers will insure that your loved ones will be able to have any necessary medical procedures paid for in full. Medical expenses can add up quickly and persons involved in accidents often require intensive care that can cost over thirty thousand dollars per day. The small charge you pay for insurance is well worth the protection that it provides.
Additionally you want a quality policy so that any person who is injured by an accident caused by your vehicle will also have all their medical needs met. You will want sufficient coverage to cover their medical expenses, time lost and vehicle damage. A quality insurance plan means that these need can be met and can help to keep you out of the courtroom and nasty lawsuits.
Some people choose car insurance based simply on cost. This is not the ideal way for choosing a quality car insurance plan. Often the difference between an okay car insurance plan and a quality car insurance plan is only a few dollars per month.
If you want to save money on a quality car insurance plan, consider paying the policy in full rather than having the policy broken up into monthly payments. Insurance companies are adding a monthly service charge for the convenience that may be five or more dollars per month. On a six month policy, that can add thirty dollars to the cost of the policy.
If you are able to pay the policy in full the first time you purchase it, then make monthly payments to a savings account for the next time the policy is due. Pay that service charge to yourself in the form of a savings account. You may end up with enough money to buy yourself a well deserved present. Go ahead, you have earned it.

Choose The Right Extended Warranty
Imagine you are on a long drive soaking in the sounds and the sights whizzing past you. It is the ideal vacation, far away from the madding crowds, the work place, the mundane routine, the freedom of driving wherever, whenever and all of a sudden your car stops, of its own violation. Silence, the sounds and sights stop whirring; your dream vacation is beginning to look just that ” a dream. You take a deep breath, sigh loudly and whip out your mobile and make a call to the nearest car repair facility. They tow your car there and you find out from the mechanic that you have to shell out your last buck getting your precious ride back on the road because your car is out of the warranty period. Is it expensive? You bet it is!
If it is a car, expensive or not, you can be sure they all break down some day. Why don’t you just be prepared for that eventuality? In this case, having an extended auto warranty would have been a boon. More often than not, it is the cost of getting the car repaired which causes stress rather than the condition of the vehicle in question.
Extended warranties generally can and do save you money in the long run. However, if you lease a vehicle and plan to turn it in at the end of the lease period, the extra cost is probably the best idea. But if you bought your vehicle, you may want to look at a warranty based on how long you plan to keep the car. While extended warranties may seem costly at the time of buying, they typically recover their own costs for long-term owners, and some actually have a buy-back clause that makes them a “can’t lose” investment.
These days, maintenance has become very costly but repairing a car costs more. If your extended warranty covers the huge amount of your car repair bill, like a usual transmission failure, then your policy will pay for itself. Repairing and replacing cost of transmission failure is about $2000, which is closer to a re-manufactured units cost. What will be the cost for an air-conditioning failure? It will be near $700 or more based on actual repairing cost. If $100 is deductible from your entire amount of bill, you are a step ahead.
Generally, at the time of purchasing a vehicle one should purchase the extended warranty contract. However, some contracts may be bought later without giving any penalty charges. When you are about to take the signature for your DMV and other finance papers from F&I(Finance & Insurance), perhaps you will be asked for purchasing an extended auto warranty for your vehicle. If you are interested then you will be asked for the choice of either the brand of manufacturer or a contract of an aftermarket brand.
Some dealers offer either manufacturers brand of contract or an aftermarket brand of contract. Generally, it depends upon the dealer what brand of contract they will provide. At the time of purchasing the vehicles, if they do not offer the manufacturers brand of contract you must ask them about it specifically to know whether they have any. I can remember that one of my friends once purchased a new Ford SVT contour from a dealer with the offer of an extended warranty for the vehicles. It was an aftermarket brand contract. When he asked for the Ford Extended Service Plan (ESP) means manufacturers brand of contract, the finance person said that they had no information on the manufacturer-backed warranty and they sold only the contract of aftermarket brand.
My friend claimed to purchase only a Ford warranty based on my bold advice. Further, after a profound investigation the F&I person was able to give the required information. My friend decided to purchase the contract with its coverage considering all the cost of different levels of coverage and accumulating the mileage and his planned time of ownership. The F&I person admitted that it was the first time he was selling an extended warranty of manufacturers brand. He had to check and follow the Ford ESP policy book while filling out the required papers properly. Never accept no for an answer. If the name of a vehicle manufacturer company is on the structure, they must sell you that manufacturers brand of contract.
There are two reasons why a dealer sells only one brand of contract: he is either tied in with the manufacturer, or is making more money selling the aftermarket brand of contract. For their own financial interests and lucrative gain, some dealers have their own branded contract with some fancy and impressive name. One thing is sure that the smart business policy invokes the dealers to go for money where they find it. The F&I persons commission is tied with specific brand of contract he is selling. So, be alert about all these things and choose the best option necessary for you. Do not allow them to take an upper hand and score more commission.
Consider the usage of the plan you purchase before you decide. The manufacturers plan allows you to use it at any of the authorized dealer across the country while the aftermarket plan lets you use the warranty only with the dealer from whom you bought the plan.
You must ask these questions: How does the plan work all across the nation? Do you have to pay first and then will it be reimbursed? Does the company make the payments over the phone through any credit card or you have to pay from your pocket first? What kind of repairing facility is available in the plan? Or whether getting authorization is taking too much of time! Will any representative from the warranty company come to investigate the vehicles?
While considering the repair facility, one should opt for the manufactures brand of contract that is very easy to deal and that company which is already on the payment program. Other than your vehicles repair that is out of coverage you do not have to pay from your pocket. In some rare cases, inspection is required but for most of the repairing cases, payments are done instantly and the total process is seamless. Quick financial approval accelerates the task of repairing without any hazard with lower financial burden. This is the main utility of these plans.
Once you choose the auto warranty you would like, you’ll usually find that you are offered different levels of coverage within the same brand of contract. Some of those levels are for parts coverage, some are time and/or mileage levels and some are for the amount of your deductible. But first, systematically evaluate your estimated requirements for time and mileage, and base your decision on this factor. Some of you may put a lot of miles on a vehicle in a short time, so a high mileage plan (rather than an extended time plan) may be your most workable option, money wise. Again, people who plan to keep their vehicle for a long time without driving it over long distances may want a longer time period plan with lower mileage coverage.
The third factor, after the time and mileage, is the parts coverage. Several levels of coverage may be on offer ranging from silver and gold to platinum or for example, a powertrain plan that covers only the engine, transmission and differential. Lengthier the list of components covered more money it will cost you. Get the best value by purchasing the best coverage plan you can afford after considering all the factors.
Lastly, given a chance, you should select your deductible. Different options with variation of deductibles are offered. It starts from $0, $50, or $100 with a few extra costs to promote from a$50 to a $0.
You should verify whether the deductible charges are applicable for per repair or per visit. Per visit means one deductible for any number of repairs per visit. Per repair means if five parts are to be repaired under the warranty, coverage then you have to pay five deductibles.
One or more standard features may be included that make the contract more cost-effective. Among these are roadside assistance, covering items such as a tow service or, in case of emergencies, hotel bills, food and other unanticipated expenses when you are away from home. Another attraction could be a buy-back clause that allows you to get part or all of your money back if you do not use the contract. The buy-back clause makes getting a warranty financially more suitable for many people who may be in two minds about the purchase. Make sure also that the policy is transferable, because this is an excellent selling point if you decide to sell the vehicle before the extended warranty policy lapses.
Obviously, cost is a very significant factor in all of this, but you should remember that you can add the price of the warranty contract to the financing of the vehicle, in most regions of the US, to help distribute the cost over the duration of your auto loan. When you are looking at another couple of hundred dollars to move to the next level of coverage it adds up to a very small increase in your payments. Consider the most reasonable plan that you can comfortably afford.
Dealers, in general, mark up their prices over the suggested retail of an extended warranty plan. The ADM (additional dealer markup) is posted on the vehicles. Best way to find out if the dealer is giving you a suggested retail or their own marked up price is to ask around and check with other dealers. Negotiate with the dealer to get a better deal on the extended warranty.
Keep in mind that a vehicle purchase is one of life’s bigger investments. Even though it is likely to be a slight gamble, buying extended warranty coverage that you may never have to use is still worth it because of the peace of mind it offers. What you spend in the short term will contribute to your mental calm if you are need to call in the tow truck while you are on holiday, stuck by the roadside, with a broken hot rod.
Four Easy Ways to Save Money When you Buy a Car or RV
In these uncertain economic times, people are looking to save money anyway the can. This article will show you 4 ways to save money on the purchase of your next vehicle or RV.
I like to save with what I call loss leaders. 2 of the last 3 cars I have bout brand new have been loss leaders. This is the car everyone sees advertised on the front page of the newspaper, but when you call, it is always gone. If you just make friend with a few of the sales people, you can usually show up and buy this car a day before the ad goes out in the newspaper. This can allow you to buy 30 to 40% below MSRP. I bought a brand new Chevy Silverado this way for $11,500, when the MSRP was almost $19,000.
Negotiate price fiercely as well and the amount of your trade in. Never negotiate on the basis of a monthly payment. (You should be paying cash anyway.) Often dealers use a low monthly to hide the fact that the vehicle is overpriced or that they are giving you nothing for your trade in so be careful.
Want to save 30 to 50% on the total price you pay for the car or RV, then the easiest way to do this is to pay cash. The benefit to paying cash is that it forces you to buy on the car you can afford. Also after buying it, you can start saving your monthly payment and thus have your interest working for your money instead of against it for the next 5 years. It is amazing that you can eventually use this technique to get a Cadillac for the price of a KIA.
Shop and compare pricing before you buy. It is relatively easy to find a great deal online. See if you can use this on a local level to leverage a lower sales price on the purchase or your next car, truck, or RV. If you choose, you can even save money buying online because these dealerships have a smaller overhead and can offer you very competitively priced models.

Pocket Bikes – Why So Popular?
Pocket bikes are essentially miniature motorcycles, they have the same sleek look as real motorcycles but are much more affordable. Motorsport enthusiasts all over the globe are collecting pocket bikes to add to their collections. A pocketbike or minibike as they also are called, comes with all the parts of their full size cousins, but are only about two to three feet tall. They are usually powered by a four stroke or two stroke gas engine, but electrically powered models are also becoming increasingly popular. Pocketbikes can be a toy for a kid or a powerful racing machine for a pro racer. How you use it is up to you.
If you care about having a stylish machine that doesn’t look like anyone elses, or simply like to customize your ride, the pocket bike world will make this very easy. To begin with, you can get the machines in a large variety of colors, patterns and designs. Add to that the ability to further customize by adding decals, changing handlebars and so on. The general design of minibikes follows real size bikes very closely. So a chopper mini bike will look like a miniature chopper, a pit bike will look like a miniature motor cross and a mini pocket rocket will look like a smaller version of a GP racing bike. A good price point for your first pocket bike would be around $350. You can get a pocketbike for much less than that, but then compromises will have to be made. Most importantly you will get a frame that is made from inferior metal alloys making it heavier and less sturdy.
Before you take your new ride out for a spin remember to check the regulation and laws in your state or country. Most places forbid the sues of pocket bikes on public roads.
As many riders unfortunately have experienced on their own skin, a pocket bike is not a toy and a fall from one without the proper safety gear can be very painful. Wear at least a helmet and preferably a full riding kit including pants, jacket, gloves, knee pads and shoes. While being safer than a real motorcycle a mini moto can still reach very high speeds. And being very maneuverable it can be easy to lose control of one.
I know you will have a blast riding your minibike. Hopefully you will ride safely as well. Have fun!
New Drivers And There Auto Insurance Woes
As a new driver, you will have some new responsibilities. If you are reading this article, you could be a teenager that just got their license or someone older who never had a license before. Which ever your case, there are some things you need to know about care insurance and how you can become a safer driver on the road. Almost everyone gets a driver’s license at some point in their life, but not everyone always knows the risk involved every time you step foot into a vehicle.
What the Insurance Company Sees.
Being that you are a new driver, you will have to get car insurance. If you are a teen that just acquired your drivers license, it is best to stay on your parent’s policy until you have a few “safe driver” years under your belt. At this point, the insurance company, no matter which one you choose, will see you as a high risk driver. Statistics show that teenager pose a higher risk while driving because of a few common facts. These facts are as follows:
1. Distraction: It is common for a teenager to have many distractions. Distractions to a teen are heightened because they typically do not distinguish importance of responsibilities. Example, if a song they like is playing on the radio, and they are not in the best position to let go of the wheel or take their eyes off the road, they will still reach for that knob to turn the radio up. It is not they feel the song is more important that a wreck, but they just do not think of that wreck happening by turning up the radio. Another form of distraction can be in the form of other teenage friends in the car. Typically, when teenagers get around each other there is horseplay or conversation that could lead to not paying close attention to the road.
2. Cell Phones: Teenagers are super glued to that cell phone. As if talking on a cell phone while driving was not dangerous enough, teenagers will actually text on their cell phones while driving. Texting requires, for the most part, looking at the keys to type a message and then send. How long are their eyes off the road before they end up rear-ending a car?
3. Calculated Risk does not exist. Teenagers often times feel they are really invincible. This leads them to take greater risks while driving. Teenagers are known for speeding, cutting people off, racing other cars, and driving recklessly in general. Not every teen does this, but then again, there are instances to back this up, and that is what the insurance company looks at.
If you are not a teenager, and you are getting your license, they are going to see you as an inexperienced driver. Inexperience equals higher risk. When getting insurance, age does play an important factor, so in that respect, you would have that going for you.
Not matter if you are a teen getting your license or past that age, you will see and pay a higher premium until you can establish a superb driving record. This can take as long as 3-5 years.

The Jeep Commander Offers Convenience
The Jeep Commander made its debut in 2005. The event was held in New York at the Annual Car Parade. It is fair to say Jeep had a surprise package. First of all, the departure from conventional Jeep designs was noticeable in the new Commander. Not only does the Commander look different from its predecessor, the Grand Cherokee. The Commander provides more seating than the Grand Cherokee.
Jeep is aware of the competition in the SUV industry. Producing a rival SUV is not an option any more. The Jeep Commander is a response to critics and competitors. People are faced with a large selection of SUVs on the market. A customer has to decide the kind of vehicle he or she wants. The decision is based on price, performance, fuel economy, style, room capacity, durability, speed, and versatility. Jeep attempted to integrate a fair amount of each quality in its Commander model.
Jeep is excited with its Jeep Commander vehicle. It remains to be seen how the Commander will perform against other SUVs. The Commander is also expected to perform better than its past models. The improvement in passenger space makes it unique. If this improvement translates into increased sales, Jeep will fulfil its mission. The Commander shares its name with two past models, the Studebaker Commander and the Scammell Commander.
The main feature of the Jeep Commander is its moon roof. The Commander roof is tilted to the front. This feature allows the back seat passengers to have more leg space. The boxy appearance of the Commander is well proportioned. An equal balance between aesthetics and functionality. The Commander sports a modern look which doesn’t compromise its passenger capacity.
The old Jeep Wagoner has an external appearance which is slightly similar to the Jeep Commander. It’s amazing how the engineers blended the characteristics of the Jeep Wagoner with those of the Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee inspired the development of the Jeep Commander. Features borrowed from the Grand Cherokee are not easily identifiable because of the stark difference in external appearance. They are more internal than external. This includes performance and power.
The engine power of the Jeep Commander is a matter of choice. Customers will be satisfied because they have to choose the type of engine they want. Customers should not expect a Formula-1 power engine. The Commander is made for rough and harsh terrains. Three types of engines are available for customers. These are the V6, and V8 engines. There is a V8 engine holding 3. 7 liters and a V8 engine holding 5. 7 liters. You simply have to choose between the two types of engines.
The Jeep Commander is a medium sized vehicle that satisfies the needs of SUVdrivers. Drivers of small SUVs are frustrated by the limited carrying capacity and large fuel consumption of small SUVs. Drivers of large SUVs are frustrated by the truck-like behaviour and large fuel consumption of large SUVs. Big SUVs don’t behave like ordinary petrol vehicles. They can be noisy and are not capable of smooth driving.
Critics of the Jeep Commander are often unaware of its advantages. The Commander comes with a fair price lower than the latest SUVs. Most families are under a tight budget regime in this recession. The Commander presents an opportunity for saving costs. The debut of the Commander may have come late, but it was worth it. Jeep has been patient and able to pull off an economy vehicle from its production line. Few would have succeeded in making such a versatile SUV.
SUV fans and consumers are enthusiastic about the next generation of Jeep Commanders. The Commander makers have one thing to brag about. The capacity of the Commander. No SUV can beat the Commander in this regard. At the same, they know that the Commander is not a vehicle that causes envy. It is such a simple vehicle with standard features. Rival SUVs boast of advanced features that put them ahead of the competition. Jeep has begun to modify the Commander, slowly but surely. The Jeep Commander Overland has been furnished with platinum plating. Its side moulds, side roof, rear assist and grilles are all platinum. A power lift gate has been introduced as well.
Annual sales of the Jeep Commander have not been impressive. Jeep recorded a poor performance on its Commander model in February 2007. The Commander sales went down by 24%. However, the Commander was not the worst loser. The biggest loser was the Jeep Liberty which registered a 41% decline in sales. Slightly below the Commander is the Jeep Cherokee which declined by 22%. The Jeep brand had some face savers though. The Jeep Wrangler was the biggest winner with 63% increase in sales. Another winner, the Jeep Compass which made its debut in 2006 sold a promising 4, 071 units.
Transportable Auto Air Conditioner As Green Alternative
Your car could have a complex air conditioner build in, but do you know at what cost to our planet your cold air luxury comes? Let us look at some aspects of it.
Non-portable car air conditioners taps into the power generated by the motor running to perform it’s cooling task. With the engine doing more work to accommodate the air conditioner, the fuel consumption goes up dramatically. More fuel used means more oil needed to make the fuel, which leads to earth getting stripped of even more oil.
The gas sealed inside your aircon unit plays a role in heat exchange. This inactive gas is highly poisonous to the environment which wouldn’t be a problem should it stay in the cooling system, but it slowly leaks through the tubes its housed in. For a cooling system to work, this gas needs topping up every year.
These 2 factors alone should sound alarm bells with concerned voters. Luckily there is a completely natural and chemical free solution in a modern portable car air conditioner that not only cool down your car’s's interior, but you can take it with you wherever you go.
The energy usage of these clever machines comes in at a minute 12-volt charge, which incidentally can be raised with a single portable solar charger or re chargeable batteries. Compare this tiny energy need with the fuel-consuming monster in your auto and you too will realize the positive impact this cooler can have.
The transportable model contains no harmful gasses as it functions using clear clean water only. The process of water evaporation drives the unit. This process leaves no damaging smoke or by products like exhaust gasses behind that pollute the atmosphere. It seems you cannot fail selecting this cooler as the perfectly green alternative to fixed air conditioners.
You can find more information about air conditioners at http://www.portablecarairconditioner.net where you can read about Portable Car Air Conditioner.
How Did The Automobile First Come About?
The majority of the Earths population have come to rely on motor vehicles as their main method of transport and as they are such a common modern convenience, it is difficult to imagine life without them. The motor vehicle came to prominence in the 20th century but its origins came about before that, so who was the very first to take the horses off the carriage and make a self-propelled vehicle?
Ferdinand Verbiest is credited with the invention of the very first invention that could reasonably come under the name, automobile. It was in 1672 that he invented a toy for the Chinese Emperor of the time that was a small, steam powered, carriage-like (although too small for a passenger or driver) toy auto mobile.
After this there were several attempts at a self-propelled carriage, the first of which can be accredited to Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot in 1769, however there was doubt surrounding his invention as to whether or not it actually worked.
In 1806, the first internal combustion engine was invented by an inventor from Switzerland called Franois Isaac de Rivaz. It was powered using a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen and, although a break through at that time, it wasnt very successful in providing a feasible mode of transport.
The man that history seems to give most of the credit too for inventing the modern automobile is Karl Benz, despite the fact that there were quite a few other inventors working on it at the same time such as Gottlieb Daimler, Wilhelm Maybach, and Siegfried Marcus. Benz had completed his motorwagen by 1885, was granted the patent in January 1886 and by 1893, had sold 25 vehicles to the wealthy folk of the day who could afford the latest luxuries.
Daimler and Maybach founded DMG (Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft / Daimler Motor Company) in 1890 under the brand name Daimler. Their first vehicle was a horse drawn carriage with one of their engines in it. By 1895 they had made around 30 automobiles, but they and Benz seemed unaware of each others early work.
Right towards the end of the 1900s the crankshaft and piston engine came about and throughout the 20th century developed into the sophisticated piece of technology we know it as today. Mergers between DMG and Benz in later years bore the Daimler-Benz company and the Mercedes-Benz automobile range.
Rough It In A Comfortable RV
When I was a young man I would hike and camp under the stars. I loved to go places I had never been before. But I will admit as I am a bit older now, I do enjoy R.V. camping.
RV’s are available in many different sizes and shapes. The smallest is a camper shell that fits in the back of a pick-up truck. Although they may be small there is a lot of convenience in a very small area.
The next step up is a van conversion. A class B motor home is simply a cargo van that is used as a camping vehicle. Sometimes the roof is raised a bit to offer more head room.
The class C motor home looks like a pick-up in the front. There is a sleeping area over the cab area, the back end looks like a motor home. The class C has all the comforts of home. A bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedroom. You could live comfortable in a class C.
The next larger version is the class A. These motor homes are like a mini one bedroom apartment, the roomiest of all the RV’s. They are completely self contained from the queen sized bed to the dinette that seats four people in luxury.
Class A motor homes are usually equipped with a refrigerator and stove, some even have a microwave oven. There may even be an ice maker, some models are capable of producing 20 pounds a day.
There are also travel trailers that hook to a regular trailer hitch and have a pop up top. If you would like to go a little larger there is the fifth wheel trailer that is towed through a hitch in the bed of a pick-up. Either of these two choices are extravagant and they are much cheaper than a motor home.
If you are not sure that camping is for you, start off small maybe even a used camper to get the feel of the situation. But which ever way you decide to go you should learn all you can about RV’ing before hand. There are RV forums online that you can ask question of and receive a lot of free and valuable information.
When automotive camping gets old it is time to invest in RV outing. They have all the comforts of home in the great outdoors. They are great for long vacations or just a quick weekend get away. They are available in many different sizes and shapes to please everybody. Grab a totally unique version of this article from the Uber Article Directory
