Are Chrome Bulbs Legal in Your State?
You’re probably planning on adding chrome bulbs to your vehicle, but you’re not quite sure whether they’re legal or not. If you’ve read up on chrome bulbs on the internet, you’ll see that everybody says that they’re street legal, but then you may have heard that some of the items who claim to be DOT (Department of Transportation) Approved usually doesn’t mean squat when you get pulled over by the Police.
When it comes to bulb modifications, it is illegal to run red and blue bulbs on your vehicle. Unless your cars name is KITT, you shouldn’t be adding red bulbs to the front of your vehicle. It is required that you have amber turn signals and running lights on your vehicle. This rule applies in all 50 states of the United States of America.
So will your chrome bulbs keep you from getting pulled over? Will the installed chrome bulbs meet the required guidelines to keep you out of trouble? Always remember that each state and country varies when it comes to traffic laws, but as long as your blinker lights shine amber when they’re on, you shouldn’t have any problems whatsoever.
Stealth Auto has created a chrome bulb that knocks the socks off of all the other bulbs out there. They blend in with no hint of yellow in the bulb. Once the turn signal is turned on, the bulb shines amber. Stealth Auto bulbs are approved by the DOT, but as I said before, remember that this usually doesn’t mean anything to the Police when they’re pulling you over.
We also suggest checking the state auto laws and regulations in the state you’re in. If you live in the U.S., it’s advised to check for the information you need at DMV.ORG.
Remember when it comes to other vehicle modifications, such as HID Headlights, the laws are different in each state.
